One type of drywall screw is the coarse drywall thread screw which is ideal for gripping into wooden objects. On the other hand, fine thread drywall screws are self-threaded and work best with metal.

Black or grey phosphate is used to protect the drywall screw from corrosion. A coat of phosphate is applied, and the screw is available in different diameters. The diameter is referred to as the gauge of the screw, and it is present in whole numbers. The most commonly used screws have the diameter of 6, 7, 8. The different concept about the diameter is that the lower the number of lumber would be, the higher the diameter.

Modular kitchen

​Several cabinets are being made between the drawers in the modular kitchen, and fixing them with drywall screws is required. The ones used for installing cabinets have a yellow zinc coating that gives an attractive look along with wood. In the modular kitchen, there are wooden boxes in which these screws are inserted. One can use these screws when there is some light project. 

Building projects

In some light projects, these screws are being used. The reason being is the weak head that can break off and affect the entire project. Unlike other screws, these screws don’t bend but rather snap out, which adds a disadvantage in outdoor projects. There are three main types in which they are available: type S, Type W, and Type G. type S works fine with the steel because it is easy to insert. There is a need for picture hanging hardware in case one has to hand a picture.

Different sizes of a drywall screw

The ones mainly used include 6 or 8 inches because that is sufficient to tighten the objects with the metal stud. Something that has to be made sure of while using the drywall screw is that one doesn’t have to hammer the screw in the wall to break the threads. When the threads are affected, then the screw would be of no use. The number of spaces used in drywall is 32, and it is mandatory to maintain the spacing between the screws. The spacing of 12 to 16 inches is required in between each screw.
