Floor Spring fitting is a gift for your doors and your floors

Floor is to room what foundation is to a building. And you must have a solid foundation if you’re going to have a strong superstructure. Whether you have rustic hardwood floors, polished marble floors or classic carpeted floors, each of them add a personality to your room. And at the edge of those floors, standing tall, are these magnificent doors that we often swing open. In these modern times, we don’t see a doorman waiting for us each time; they've been replaced with automatic door closers because they are labor-saving, effective and economical solutions. We talked about overhead door closers in our previous article, today; let’s talk about another type of door closer.

Since 1989, Kaizon Hardware has led in the pursuit for innovation and cutting edge technology while maintaining its excellence in craftsmanship. Doors greet more people daily than we do, the constant swinging might lead to their wear & tear. Floor springs make sure the door doesn’t damage easily. So what are floor springs?

A floor spring is an adjustable mechanical door closing device used along with patch fitting. Floor springs are used for doors where both pull and push movement is required also known as double action doors. The body of floor springs is built with a cast iron mechanism and has premium-quality oil in it. They are embedded within the floor in a cement box and the only part visible is the cover plate that’s usually stainless steel but is available in other finishes depending on the floor spring manufacturers. Our floor springs are strong, durable and also prevent getting the floor scratched.

But how do you know that you are picking the right floor spring? We have a check-list for you.

Adaptability - One needs more effort to operate heavier doors than smaller doors. Therefore, floor springs allow adjustability for features such as closing force, closing speed and latch action ensuring the maximum adaptability of floor springs.

Invisibility - Aesthetics are incredibly necessary when it comes to doors because they are the first thing anyone sees. Hence, floor springs are virtually invisible or concealed so as to not seem obstruct the look of the door.

Quality - They comply with pre-registered standards in terms of size and material that guarantee the quality as well as the safety.

Heavy Duty - Floor springs work smoothly for even 100 kgs - 150 kgs doors.

Affordability - Floor Springs are available in models to suit most customers’ budgets – they are quite an economic door closing solution.

If all these boxes are ticked, then you know you can go ahead and buy the floor spring.

Now, you may wonder why anyone would choose to install floor springs over door closers. Here are some key advantages of using floor springs:

Specifically for glass doors, floor springs look good and maintain their simplicity because they are not as bulky as door closers.

Floor springs have a very shallow installation height and can be used with various kinds of floor structures or floorings.

Floor springs are particularly effective for heavy oversized doors – Floor to ceiling height doors are often just too large for conventional door closers, so a floor spring with straps and a top pivot are a great solution.

Some floor springs are electromagnetic and have a hold-open function which is ideal for Fire/Smoke protection doors that are located in areas of high footfall such as corridors.

Floor springs assist the opening and closing of doors, even in areas of high wind, where it could cause injury to people or damage the doors themselves.

If your space requires door closers that are preferably concealed ones, then floor springs have the edge over conventional versions because they are versatile & well suited to pretty much any situation. Floor springs are great for floor-to-ceiling height or heavier, bulky doors, they work equally smoothly with single or double-leaf doors and, best of all - they automatically combine functionality and efficiency with aesthetic appeal. They are also low maintenance, durable and inexpensive. They help us keep our doors, floors and us completely safe. So with Kaizon’s floor springs, keep your doors swinging in-&-out, shiny floors, and happier, safer surroundings.
